Controls Engineer (Electrical Designer/Engineer)

Job Type:   Salaried, Exempt

Location: York, Pennsylvania USA

Work under an Engineering manager in a team environment to facilitate the electrical design and

assembly of electrical panels and systems for custom automation machinery

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical panels and systems using AutoCAD Electrical (Schematics and BOMs)
  • Research, interpret, and incorporate various industry standards (NEC, IEC, UL, NFPA 79, RIA, CE Standards)
  • Specify components to be used in assembly of systems and provide information to purchasing and wiring
  • Meet with vendors to stay up-to-date on products and other industry developments
  • Assist with test plans or proof of concept for new components
  • Assist with developing standard operating procedures
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues
  • Interface and coordinate with other departments including mechanical engineering, production, customer service, quality, etc.
  • Limited travel, especially international, may be required
  • Other duties as may be assigned

Skills & Related Experience 

  • A.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering or related experience
  • Knowledge of NEC, IEC, UL, NFPA 79, RIA and CE standards preferred
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with precision automation machinery
  • AutoCAD Electrical
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Knowledge of Solidworks preferred
